Construction Technologist Apprenticeship

Promoting Careers In ACE

The ACE Sector board and Kirkwood Community College launched the Construction Technologist Apprenticeship as part of the ongoing efforts to create new education and training delivery models to fill construction workforce needs.

This program is a Department of Labor recognized apprenticeship with an earn and learn model. Each participating company offers their apprentice a mentor to help facilitate on the job site learning with the classroom portions. The program is a 3 year model that allows the apprentices and companies flexibility that the traditional classroom does not by loading classes during slower seasons and supports on the job learning. Upon completion the apprentices earn a Department of Labor credentialing and have completed a majority of Kirkwood’s Architecture, Construction and Engineering diploma.
