Plan and Design the Structures Around You
A person who designs buildings and often supervises construction projects.
People need places to live, work, and play and architects are responsible for designing these places. They work on all different kinds of projects and design both indoor and outdoor spaces. Architects design anything from a single room, a convention hall, skyscrapers, and many other types of buildings.
Architects also help to determine the requirements and budget of a project with their clients. Architects can also provide various pre-design services like feasibility and environmental impact studies, site selection, cost analyses, and design requirements.
Computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) and building information modeling (BIM) have replaced traditional drafting as the most common methods for creating designs and architectural drawings. Hand-drawing skills are still used though especially early in the conceptual stages of a project.
Architects will work with people in other industries on a project, such as civil engineers, urban and regional planners, interior designers, and landscape architects in order to complete a project.
